AZALEA CUP for COLTS
Gently opening the door and clipping the lead rope, onto his halter so he knew he can come out of the stall now. I shaked my head as he was sniffing the air and looking around being really noisy right now. I placed the blanket over his body and putting the tack on him. Feeling his legs making sure they weren't hot or swollen. I was told to bandage his legs this morning, since the turf could be slightly hard, and we didn't want to risk his legs getting injury. Once this was all done, I mounted up and walked towards the track.
Baylee was really forward today and eager to work this time. I made him trot towards where the gates would be place. I gave him a gently kick and already he started to cantered smoothly, getting into business. The experience was showing, as the fighting with the bit have stopped now, and he was settled like he was in the middle of the pack. The stride was faster than I have ever felt in my weeks of riding this beauitful colt. Four furlongs now and I asked for a little more speed, and he responded, like he was moving up towards the leader. As the final stretch came, I gave the colt his head and allowed the colt to run. As he felt this, I felt his speed and stride going faster and faster, it was amazing to feel. Quickly as it started the training session was over and I gently pulled him up, and it steadily slowed down back to a walk.
I then led him towards the entrance, dismounted and led him back to the groom , while I went to see Sean and reported how the colt done in his workout which was great. This colt was ready for his race, and hopefully this time he would do better. [/font][/ul]
